Reinhard Nadrchal was born in the Weinviertel region of Lower Austria. He began working with photography at an early age, receiving his first SLR camera at the age of twelve and gaining early experience in the darkroom. Alongside photography, music has played a central role in his life; he studied violin from the age of seven.
He initially studied biology in Vienna and later worked in scientific research and software engineering. From 2015 onwards, he returned to photography with renewed focus. He completed his professional photography training at the LIK Akademie für Foto und Design, graduating with distinction, and continued his education in visual communication in Vienna. He was subsequently admitted to the Friedl Kubelka School for Artistic Photography.
In addition to his own photographic practice, he has been active in teaching and curatorial work at the LIK Akademie für Foto und Design. His work has been exhibited at institutions including Forum Stadtpark in Graz and Fotogalerie Wien. In 2024, he relocated to Berlin, where he lives and works today. His current practice focuses on commissioned photography in cultural contexts, particularly exhibitions, events, and institutional projects.
